The Human Impact

The Human Impact, focusses on endangered and threatened animals, and their leading causes of endangerment. Research surrounding each animal shows that humans play a key role in their declining numbers through; poaching, farming, water pollution, pesticides, etc. The goal of this project is to bring awareness to our direct impact on wildlife, and aid in the preservation of these beautiful creatures.

About the Artist

Alyssa Karlin is a San Francisco Bay Area photographer currently pursuing a BFA in photography from San Jose State University with expectations to graduate in 2023. Her work focuses on social issues, and aims to advocate for change. She is a passionate animal rights activist and is involved with animal rescue centers as a volunteer and foster. She believes that animals should be treated with care and respect and that we should make efforts to preserve their habitats.
